AskKinjo came about in 2006 to deliver Location Based Services to mobile users for free, in a manner that would by-pass previous pitfalls and achieve mass volume.
The founders of AskKinjo lived through the first wave of location based services, the hype and the crashing demise in the late 90's. They applied this hard-learned expertise to the development of #KINJO, the first AskKinjo location-based search service.
AskKinjo overcomes the numerous and varied issues that have hampered the embryonic mobile advertising and the location-based service industries. These issues currently include little free content, costly platform dependence, difficult human interfaces, privacy infringement concerns and advertising viewed as an obtrusive nuisance by users.
Two patents, both filed in USA and Canada are pending for AskKinjo’s fundamental method of incorporating localized advertising with Location-Based Service (LBS), and for a system and method of delivering Location Based Service (LBS) to callers. Cost and convenience have been the key reasons for the low popularity of LBS applications and the unsuccessful usage of local advertising. Our invented methods address both issues.
